Demonstration of 5000 people in Hasankeyf against the Ilisu dam project (04.10.2000)

On the 4th of October 2008 around 5000 people demonstrated from the village Kesmeköprü II till Hasankeyf in order to protest the Ilisu dam. The Turkish and also the German, Austrian and Awiss governments have been requested to stop the Ilisu project at once. The same evening a big concert with almost 50 artists has been organized in Hasankeyf.

The day before was a symposium in Batman on the different aspects of the Ilisu project. See the declaration of the symposium!
