2007 Martında Dicle nehri üzerinde planlanan Ilısu barajı ve Hidroelektrik Santral Projesi için Ilısu konsorsiyumunda sizin ülkenizden yer alan şirketlere kredi garantisi vermenizi, Ilısu projesinden doğrudan etkilenecek kişi olarak şiddetle kınıyorum. Kınamakla beraber bu kredi garantisini geri çekmenizi talep ediyorum! Bunu sizden talep etmenin bir çok nedeni var, her biri baraja karşı olmanın bir gerekçesi.
Ilısu projesi gerçekleşirse öncellikle ben yurdumdan edileceğim, bunu da kesinlikle istemiyorum. Ben kalkınmayı yerimde istiyorum, kentte yaşıyamam. Şu an iyi olmasa idare eden bir geçimim var. En doğru kalkınma, kültür turizmi, hayvancılık ve tarımı geliştirmektir, bölgemize insanlar için yatırımlar yapmaktadır Bölgemiz 90lı yıllarda göç trajedisine sahne oldu, daha bu yaralar sarılmadan onbinlerce insan göç ettirilmesini istemiyorum. Hasankeyf benim tarih, kültür ve belleğimdir. Anlamı benim için çok derindir, kimliğim için vazgeçilmezdir. Bundan dolayı hiç gerekçeyle 10 bin yıllık Hasankeyfin sular altında kalmasını kabul edemem. Dicle Vadisinde Hasankeyfin dışında araştırılmamıi daha sayısız kültür mirasım var. Bu vadide yetişen meyveyi dünyanın hiç bir yerinde bulamasınız. Biz olağanüstü doğasıyla kutsal olan Dicle nehri ile barışık bir şekilde yaşamaktan da mutluyuz. Bölgemizde son yıllarda yapılan diğer baraj projelerinde göç edenlerin çoğu perişan oldu. Bunlar bilinmesine rağmen bu insanların halen yaraları sarılmıyor. Ve hükümet yetkililerin son bir iki yıldaki tavrında bu defa bir farklılık olacağı yönden hiç bir sinyal yok. Sadece bir defa, 2005in ilk baharında DSİnin görevlendirdiği kişiler benimle anket yaptılar. Bu ankette alakasız çok sayıda soru soruldu ve inanmadığımız yazılı olmayan güzel sözler söylendi. Onun dışında proje yürütücülerden hiç kimse bir daha benimle konuşmadı. Farklı görüşlerimiz alınmadı, alternatifler dinlenmedi. Nasıl oluyor da Ilısu konsorsiyumu projede katılımcılık vardır iddiasında bulunabiliyor? Bölgemizde son yıldan bu yana maalesef çatışma ortamı yeniden gelişti. Hemen hergün bölgemizde insanlar ölmektedir. Bu şiddet ortamda nasıl rahat bir şekilde hakkımı arıyabilirim?
Sizden bu nedenlerden dolayı projeyi ciddi bir şekilde gözden geçirip verdiğiniz kredi teminatını geri almanızı talep ediyorum. Eğer böyle bir adım atmasanız ve ben ailemle göçe mecbur kalırsam sizin ülkelerinize gelip ilticaya başvurmayı planlıyorum. Sizin ve şirketlerinizin katkınızla göç edeceğim için bizi almak zorundasınız.

I am condemning and asking you to withdraw your credit assurance for companies from your country for Ilisu Consortium, Ilisu Dam and Hydroelectricity Power projects planned on Tigris River in March 2007, as I will be directly affected.
There are various reasons for this demand; First of all I will be expelled from my home, thus myself and members of my family will experience psychological problems. Although it is not very sufficient currently we can still survive. We would like the economic progress which promised by the project to be carried out while we stay in our habitat. The other methods of developments are improvement of culture-nature tourism, agriculture and husbandry. There is no doubt we will be happier with improvement of such services. We do not want to experience the same problems faced by migrants from other dam projects, not counting those who have experiences forced migration. However, their wounds have not been healed, left unguarded and we have no doubt that in this case authorities will leave us alone. Only once workers from DSI (Government Water Affairs) have carried out survey in spring 2005. In this survey there were many irrelevant questions asked and pleasant out of record comments have been made. Apart from this survey, nobody has questioned us, asked our views or provided any other alternatives. There could be different views. After all, Ilisu Consortium says there is a participation in this project. Unfortunately the clashes started again in recent year and human rights violations increased. How can I fight for my rights within this environment? Hasankeyf is our history, culture and memory. Because we are identified with Hasankeyf it is indispensable to us. Do not view Hasankeyf as ordinary historical attraction. Upper Mesopotamias rebellious boy Hasankeyf has a place in every persons heart. Therefore I can not accept 10 thousand years Hasankeyf to be left under water. Apart from Hasankeyf there are many other historical cultural heritages on the Tigris River. It is impossible to find fruits anywhere in the world which are growth here. We get the enjoyment embracement of Hasankeyfs extraordinary nature and holy Tigris River. We learn the peace from this extraordinary scene. The 150 condition put forwarded by you after deciding on Ilisu project is unbelievable to us. You should understand that, after the completion of Ilisu project nothing will bring it to accepted level. Do these conditions stops the lost of Hasankeyf and cultural heritage on Tigris River? Do these conditions save this extraordinary nature? Do these conditions stop me from migration, becoming poor both materially and spiritually? Do these conditions obstruct the violations of my basic human rights? Due to all above reasons, I am asking you to review the project, taking all parties views and withdrawal of credit assurance or suspension of credit assurance. If you do not take any initiatives which will result with our compulsory migration, we are as a family planning to seek an asylum in your country. It will be you and your company will be responsible for our detachment from this geography.
